After receiving his education from The Ohio State University in 1974 and the Toledo College of Law in 1979, David joined the Toledo firm of Doyle, Lewis and Warner.  In 1981, David returned to Ashtabula County to practice law.  In 1983, he became a founding member of Nicholson & Pontius and in May 1999 he joined Mark W.Andrews to form Andrews & Pontius, LLC.  David is a member of the Community Board of Directors of First Merit Bank, N.A. and has served as Solicitor for the City of Ashtabula and the Villages of Jefferson, Orwell and Rock Creek. David was a member and past chair of the Ohio Supreme Court Commission On Certification Of Attorneys As A Specialist; he has served as a  member of the Board of Governors of the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers, is a member of the Ohio State and American Bar Associations, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and the Ashtabula County Bar Association, serving as President in 1992-1993.  Practice areas include: Negligence Law, Medical Malpractice, Legal Malpractice, Toxic Tort, Commercial Litigation, Municipal Law, Estate Planning, and Trial Practice.
